For Sammy my friend

A spider the size
of a ten pence piece
Has been living
in my house for a year.
he’s been my only friend
when no one else was around.
I watched that my wheels never
crushed him to death while I zoomed
around in my wheelchair all day.

We slept against the same wall
And he killed flies while I slept
We both never had a voice
But we never invaded space.

Now he lies legless upon my desk
He looks like he’s took a stroke
But there’s no OT or Physio Therapy for him.

The funeral is tomorrow at ten.
